When is bundling worth it on eBay?
Many eBay sellers ship several items of one order separately — and give away real money. Whether bundling is really cheaper depends on the parcel weights and the chosen carrier.
The basic rule: when the parcel class stays the same
Bundling always pays off when the combined total weight falls into the same price class as the heavier single item — or even a lower one. Example: item 1 weighs 800 g, item 2 weighs 900 g. Separately, each parcel costs 4.19 euros at DHL — together 1,700 g is still under 2 kg and therefore also 4.19 euros. Saving: 4.19 euros per order.
When separate shipping is better
If the combined weight slips into a higher price class, separate shipping can be cheaper. At DHL, for example, a parcel up to 2 kg costs 4.19 euros, but the next up to 5 kg costs 7.69 euros. Two separate 1.8 kg parcels cost 8.38 euros — but one 3.6 kg parcel costs only 7.69 euros. Here bundling pays off despite exceeding the 2 kg limit.
How to calculate your monthly savings

- Communicate in your listings that you offer combined shipping — this can increase conversion.

When should I ship together?
