Short, honest, and with all the important info. Descriptions that sell.
The ideal structure
- First sentence: What is the item? (Brand, model, condition)
- Key features: Bullet points — not paragraphs
- Condition description: Honest! For used items: mention all flaws
- What's included: What's in the box, what's not
- Shipping info: When you ship, which carrier
Mistakes that cost sales
- Descriptions that are too long — nobody reads 500 words
- Wall of text with no structure (use headings and bullets)
- Exaggerated or false condition claims
- Missing flaw descriptions (leads to returns)
Pro tip
Most buyers ONLY read the title and look at photos. The description is for the last 20% who are unsure. Keep it short and informative.
