Documentation is everything. Tracking, photos, and fast communication decide the outcome.

The 3 most important rules

  1. Documentation: Tracking with delivery proof, photos of the item before shipping, all messages in the eBay system
  2. Fast response: Reply within 24 hours to every case
  3. Professional tone: Factual, friendly, solution-oriented — never emotional

The most common dispute types

"Item not received"

You win if: Tracking shows delivery. You lose if: No tracking or tracking shows no delivery.

"Item not as described"

Harder. eBay usually decides in favor of the buyer. Best strategy: Show goodwill, offer partial refund, avoid escalation.

"Defective item"

Request photos. If the defect wasn't present before shipping: File a shipping damage claim. Still refund the buyer.
