What makes a good niche?
- Demand: At least 100 sales/month in the category
- Margin: At least 30% after all costs
- Low returns: Clothing has 20-30% returns, electronics accessories under 5%
- Easy to ship: Small, light, durable
- Low competition: Not dominated by big sellers
How to research
- eBay search: Sort by "Sold items" — what actually sells?
- Terapeak (built into eBay): Sales data and trends
- Google Trends: Is demand rising or falling?
- Competition check: How many sellers? What prices?
