Buyer Claims Item Not Received — What to Do

Check tracking, start an investigation, refund if necessary.

First: Check tracking

Scenario 1: Tracking shows delivered

You have proof. Share the tracking link with the buyer. If they still dispute: Upload the delivery proof in the eBay case. You win.

Scenario 2: Tracking shows in transit

Ask the buyer for 2-3 business days patience. After 7 business days: File a search request with the carrier.

Scenario 3: No tracking available

Bad news. Without tracking, eBay almost always decides in favor of the buyer. Lesson: ALWAYS ship with tracking.

Fraud suspicion?

If you suspect the buyer is lying: Report to eBay. eBay recognizes patterns (buyers who do this repeatedly).
